Spanning 500 square miles, Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District is a rural district that serves the educational needs of Birnamwood, Hatley, Eland, Wittenberg, Bevent, Pike Lake, and Elderon. Currently, the district consists of one high school and two elementary/middle schools using a PreK-5, 6-8, and 9-12 configuration. Our student body consists of a 1,174 population with the cultural diversity of 82.8% White, 6.8% Hispanic/Latino, 3.7% American Indian or Alaskan Native, 5.6% two or more races, 0.3% Asian, and 0.6% Black or African American, 0.2% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander. 43.3% of students are economically disadvantaged, 15.8% are students with disabilities, and 3.3% are English learners.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School houses 342 students with a cultural diversity of 82.5% White, 7.6% Hispanic/Latino, 2.7% American Indian or Alaskan Native, 5.7% two or more races, 0.9% Black or African American, 0.3% Asian, and 0.3% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander. 38.7% of students are economically disadvantaged, 15.4% are students with disabilities, and 5.1% are English learners.
